Food with a purpose

Mt. Angel Oktoberfest is one of our favorite times of year in the Mt. Angel community.

It’s more than just a good time—it raises funds for multiple local non-profits.

Learn more about our special 50th Oktoberfest sausage below, including where to find it at this year’s festival and how to order it to enjoy at home.

The "Holy Grail" of Sausages

What’s an Oktoberfest without German sausage?

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Mt. Angel Oktoberfest, Lonely Lane Farms was honored to craft a special smoked sausage inspired by a local legend—the Schmidt recipe.

Luke and Francie Schmidt, two brothers from Mt. Angel, were known for their signature sausage. The local priest even calls it the holy grail of sausages. Everyone claims to have it—almost no one does. But thanks to family ties, we got close.

Mike Kloft, owner at Lonely Lane Farms and a Schmidt descendant, worked directly with the family to create a proprietary blend, staying true to their legacy.

The result? Our 50th Oktoberfest sausage—flavorful, smoked, and steeped in tradition.

Allergy-Friendly and Simple

Our sausage is:

  • Dairy free
  • Gluten free
  • Soy free
