Frequently Asked Questions

Where is your farm located?

Lonely Lane Farms is a 165-acre farm in Oregon’s beautiful Willamette River Valley, run by third generation farmers Mike and Patty Kloft. We also lease 300 acres of grazing lands at the historic Mount Angel Abbey.

How'd you get your name?

The name “Lonely Lane” comes from Mike’s mom, who moved to Mount Angel from the big city of Woodburn, and determined it was lonely out on the farm. When the rural route changed, Mike’s parents were given the chance to name the new road, and Mike’s mom called it Lonely Lane.

Where do you process your meat?

Right here! It’s rare for a family farm, but we do all of our own processing on site in our own USDA-inspected facility.

We’ve chosen not to outsource our meat processing because we want to maintain complete control over its quality. (No meat mixing, unnecessary fillers, or allergen contamination.) Because we process everything ourselves, we know exactly where the meat came from, what’s in it, and what’s NOT. We always get a product that meets our exceptionally high standards.

What does "allergen-free" mean?

For us, “allergen-free” means that our meat products are always completely free of the Big 8 allergens: eggs, fish, milk, peanuts, shellfish, soy, tree nuts, and wheat. Owner Mike Kloft is allergic to gluten, dairy, and peanuts, so our products have always been free of these allergens. (And as proof, our family definitely eats our farm’s meat!)

We also make recipes for people with other dietary sensitivities, such as allergies to capsicums and alliums, as well as other dietary/health needs (such as low- or no-sugar). If you have any questions about our allergen practices, please contact us.

Can I buy your grass-fed meats in stores?

Yes! However, we only sell our products through personally vetted local stores across the Willamette Valley — no big-box grocery chains for us. Check out our locations for the latest information on our wholesale partners and where to buy grass-fed meats from Lonely Lane Farms.

We also offer home delivery in the Corvallis, Eugene, and Portland areas, and you can shop online here.

Do you use hormones or antibiotics?

Nope. We’ve always cared for our animals to the highest standards, and we use sustainable farming practices. That means no hormones, no antibiotics, and open environments with plenty of space to graze.

Our products also contain exactly what you’d think they would based on their name: pork, beef, lamb, or other meat with no questionable filler ingredients. Even our sausages and deli meats!
